A number of years ago a hurricane came through this part of the country and did quite a bit of damage including destroying this bridge. This year they finally managed to create a make-shift bridge so that you can at least cross on foot. In the truck we just drive through the water. . . Until it rains and the water gets too deep. . . then we have to walk across and leave the truck on the other side. I would have been content walking through the river even though it was knee deep, but we decided to use the bridge. . . I can't say it was my favorite moment from the trip!
We went to visit the families of some of the kids in the home as well as to see if there were any other special cases. Everywhere we go we draw a crowd. . .
