we love the pool.
i especially love it because the kids are getting bigger so I am not so anxiety stricken the entire time we are there :)
other key reasons i can relax a little more:
1. Even the littlest ones are getting tall enough to touch in the 3 foot end
2. The ones that still aren't quite tall enough are comfortable floating in their life jacket swim suits or inflatables.
3. All of them are okay with going under or getting their faces wet!
4. Only Ruby is in diapers, and the bathroom is close, so accidents don't seem to be a problem ;)
5. The little ones are getting to the age that they are more 'fun' so the big kids don't mind swimming around and playing with them (before it was just punishment to have to stay in the shallow end)
6. i know that they will be so exhausted at the end of the day, that they will gladly climb into bed and go to sleep :) (that comes from actual experience!)

departamentos de futbol!
The MQV girls soccer team is moving forward full force!
While the whole set up is not quite as organized as I'm used to, it appears as though this section of play - departamentos- might be an equivalent to Regionals. The girls won out of all the schools in El Crucero so they are now competing in Managua against the greater Managua area schools. Supposedly if they win this week they go to Nationals to win the best of Nicaragua. . . There is no formal bracket, but from the bits and pieces I have pulled together, that's the way it works.
Wednesday the oldest two grades of the school loaded up on a bus to cheer our girls on! We had a blast! Especially because they won 6-0! Joely scored 2 goals and Debonney 1 and they got to play in the huge stadium in Managua. All in all a pretty great game!
The bus ride home was fun :)
They play again tomorrow, so we're hoping for the best!

iguana soup
I ate part of the leg of one of these guys this weekend. . . not my favorite meat, but not entirely disgusting! although if I hadn't seen them dissected it may have been more appetizing.
also the tail keeps moving after it is detached from the body. . . that was kind of weird.
